Dinnington St John’s Town Council is pleased to announce a new partnership with Keystone Yorkshire to deliver the first of a series of much-needed social housing projects in the area. After a thorough selection process, the agreement has been reached to move forward with a new development on East Street, with work expected to begin over the next 12 months, pending planning approval from Rotherham Borough Council (RMBC).
Cllr Nigel Ruff, Chair of the Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “Dealing with Keystone Yorkshire and the professional manner in which they approach this project has been incredibly impressive. Their approach helped us reach a positive and exciting conclusion for all involved. Dinnington desperately needs better quality social housing, and the fact that Keystone is a local company, committed to using local tradesmen and providing apprenticeship opportunities, alongside the favourable financial settlement we agreed upon, made their proposal compelling.”
Dean Fielding, Owner of Keystone Yorkshire, said: “We are honoured to partner with Dinnington St John’s Town Council on this vital social housing project. At Keystone Yorkshire, we take great pride in delivering developments that not only meet the highest standards of quality but also create lasting benefits for the local community and we believe this brings the best value for Dinnington. This project on East Street represents an opportunity to address the urgent need for affordable housing while showcasing our commitment to sustainability, local job creation, and apprenticeships.
Dinnington St John’s Town Council, have diligently reviewed our proposal and their rigorous approach reflects their dedication to achieving the best outcomes for the community. This project aligns with the overarching ethos and values of Keystone Yorkshire, as we intend to integrate our own locally manufactured technologies in these homes to enable Zero Bills Homes. These innovations will not only reduce energy costs but also significantly improve the comfort, well-being, and standing of the residents. These new homes are aimed at helping tackle both the cost of living and housing crisis.
As a company rooted in this region, we are passionate about investing in the future of our communities. By working closely with the council and employing local tradespeople, we aim to deliver a development that will have a positive and meaningful impact on Dinnington that we can be proud of for years to come.”
This development represents the first step in a broader initiative to address the pressing need for affordable housing in Dinnington. The project aims to provide high-quality social housing options for local families, with a focus on community integration and sustainable building practices.
Keystone Yorkshire, known for its commitment to local development and job creation, will oversee the construction, while ensuring that the project aligns with the council’s vision for a vibrant and sustainable community.
